“I am truly blessed to be chosen for this program and am very grateful for the opportunity.”

“We are a big family that is very loving, caring, fun, and family-oriented,” said Yonnette. She is a bus operator in Pinellas County, and is a mother to four children.

Marvin, her oldest son, loves Japanese culture and Anime. Her only daughter, Hadassah, loves to act, write stories, and watch the show Stranger Things. Judah, the third youngest, loves Roblox, cooking, and playing with his baby brother. Roy, the youngest, loves to play and build with his magnetic toys. “We love to do a lot of outdoor activities as a family.”

The Taylor family currently lives in a small space located in a dangerous neighborhood. “Our surroundings are challenging and worrisome. The kids’ playtime is limited because they can only be outside when I am with them.”

Yonnette says that her excitement was overwhelming when she found out she was accepted into the Habitat program. “I am truly blessed to be chosen for this program, and am very grateful for the opportunity.”

She has loved the learning experience that comes with being a homeowner candidate. “You get to meet some awesome people along the way, and help families achieve their goals.”

“I am building a foundation and a legacy for my kids. I am proud to be showing my kids that anything is possible with hard work and faith. Just saying the words ‘coming home’ puts a smile on my face every time.”
