Here at Habitat, we understand that these uncertain times can be difficult for everyone. Many are homebound for the upcoming weeks, which leaves a lot of our families facing tough challenges. However, others are making the best of the situation and finding ways to stay positive. We will be sharing updates that our homeowner candidates shared about how their families are staying positive during this time.

Regina and her 7 year old daughter, De’Niia, plan to spend the next few weeks playing family board games and working on school learning plans. “Due to the virus we can’t go out and have fun like we really would like to.” Instead, Regina says they will make their favorite snack- ice cream sundaes, and playing their current favorite game, Bingo. “De’Niia really enjoys calling out the numbers and letters.”

Regina feels the importance of spreading positive messages every day. “I work at a mental home facility, and I often see things that break my heart. It makes me feel appreciative of my life, so every chance I get I try to give back to anyone- in any way that I can. Even if its just kind words or a smile.”

Regina loves to travel, so when she saw that China had no new cases of Coronavirus, she was very happy! She has been doing everything she can to stay positive, such as checking in with her mom, and reading her current book 1000+ Little Things Happy, Successful People Do Differently.

“Home is where my daughter and I create memories and laughter never ends!”
