“I imagine my son having his own space. I imagine having some alone time. I imagine hosting Christmas and Thanksgiving dinner in my home, and making everyone feel welcome,” says Mia Dorsey when describing her future life with a Habitat home. The family is looking forward to having more room to grow.

Mia has been a Transitional Specialist for a year now. She says, “My life revolves around Mason. I enjoy watching him grow and excel.” Mason is very active and enjoys football, soccer, and running track. “Mason also has a fascination with dinosaurs and anything about historic animals.”

The family moved in with Mia’s mother a few years ago, leaving her and Mason to share one bedroom. Although living with family made some aspects of their lives easier, over time they have outgrown this space, and it is very overcrowded. “I am very excited to be able to provide my son with a forever home. Our lives are going to change for the better.”

“I want to provide stability for my son. I want him to be able to play in the backyard and invite his friends over. More than anything, I am looking forward to cooking and having dinner with my son at the dinner table. I can’t wait to ask him about his day while eating a healthy meal.”

“God has shown me that everything happens at the right time.”
