Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties will be celebrating the grand opening of the New Port Richey ReStore on May 13 and 14, 2022.
It’s Palm Harbor ReStore has relocated to this new location at 6431 US Highway 19, just north of Main Street in the Vanderbilt shopping center. Store hours are 9 AM – 6 PM, Monday through Saturday. The grand opening weekend will feature a ribbon cutting with the Greater Pasco Chamber of Commerce, a live remote with HITS 106, food trucks, outdoor games, giveaways, and great deals.

“The grand opening of this new location is an exciting milestone for Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties”, explains Mike Sutton, president and CEO of the affiliate. “The New Port Richey ReStore location will serve as a hub for shoppers, donors, homeowner candidates and volunteers to engage with the Habitat mission in Pasco County.”
In early 2019, the Pinellas and West Pasco affiliates of Habitat for Humanity merged with the idea to serve more families. The affiliates merged with a common goal to increase affordable homeownership opportunities within Western Pasco County. Since then, the affiliate has been successful in completing 18 homes; raising production an estimated 900%.
“Our work in West Pasco is just beginning… we recently purchased a nearly 5-acre site off of Little Road with plans to develop a 30-unit subdivision”, said Sutton. “Located directly across the street from the new VA Outpatient Center and just a block north of the West Pasco Government Center, we are beyond excited about this opportunity for the residents of Pasco County.”
The New Port Richey ReStore location continue to build this momentum for affordable homeownership opportunities in Pasco County.
SHOP
The Habitat ReStore, a nonprofit home improvement store and donation center, is open to the public and sells a variety of new and gently used building materials and home furnishings at discounted prices. Proceeds from the ReStore support the Habitat for Humanity homebuyer program.
“Shoppers can feel good about their purchases – each item sold helps support the home builds of families in the program”, said Sutton. “When a shopper purchases a set of kitchen cabinets or a new couch at the ReStore, they are directly impacting a local family.”
DONATE
Along with shopping, community members can also donate gently used items to the ReStore. Each year the ReStores keep nearly 800 tons of reusable materials from landfills. Those looking to donate to the ReStore can schedule contactless pick-ups online at habitatpwp.org/restore or via phone at (727) 209-2199. Both the Clearwater and New Port Richey locations accept donations thru the drop-off area as well.
VOLUNTEER
In addition to shopping and donating, volunteer opportunities are also available through the ReStore. Habitat for Humanity is looking for volunteers to assist with processing donations, assisting customers and more. The ReStores offer a great alternative for those who cannot volunteer their time on a build site but want to make a huge impact.
Each year, the Habitat Pinellas and West Pasco ReStores sponsor a deserving family. The most recent ReStore-sponsored homeowner partner, the Pici family, completed the program and celebrated the dedication of their home in New Port Richey April 2022.
