“I know the value of ownership. This set up my life for the better and I can’t wait to pay my home off.”
LaQuinda Currie and her sons Samuel and Semaj moved into their Habitat forever home back in 2018. This made the family Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco’s 500th Milestone Homeowners. The Currie’s journey with Habitat has been life changing since moving into their home. “My children are much happier. We are able to enjoy life now,” LaQuinda says. Not only are her children happier, but they are also doing a lot better in school. Both of her sons are on the honors list at school. “They both are excelling in their sports and always talk about going to college. I love the fact that by me pushing myself for greatness, they want to do the same for themselves.”
Since becoming a Habitat homeowner, LaQuinda has learned a lot about financial stability and the value of homeownership. She loves her home and the neighborhood she lives in. “Home is where I work. Where my boys grow and my family come to get away. My home is my peace. My palace. My home is a place of love.”
