“This home will be a place for my daughter to grow and receive all of the love and memories that I never knew I was capable of providing.”

Brandi, a mother of one and Spectrum employee, is working towards her forever home in the Habitat program. She attended Florida A&M University and received her Associate’s degree in Software Development.

Her daughter, Loyal, is only six-months-old, and will grow up in this new home. “My family and I are very close. We spend as much time together as we can, experiencing all new things in life together as a family. It is very important to me.”

The family currently resides in a small 300 square foot, one-bedroom apartment. “With a baby girl, you could only imagine the struggles of us trying to move around this space. We always have to be cautious of our surroundings. I can’t believe I didn’t know about the Habitat program sooner, but we are excited to be

able to grow into this new space.”

“I have learned so much through the program from home repairs, saving money, and more. I will be able to appreciate the home so much more. I will be able to do a lot more for myself and my daughter, and with the tools given I will be able to provide more for her to enjoy her childhood.”

Brandi is excited about finally having a stable environment that she will have forever. “I know that if anything were to happen to me, I have something to leave my daughter and she will always be safe.”

“I always remember that God will always make way for the things I never thought were possible. This opportunity allows me to provide my daughter with everything she deserves and more.”

The Smith’s home is sponsored by Banning Lumber and was dedicated in June 2021.
