“Home is where love never ends and memories are made.”

Victoria Christopher is an Office Assistant for Reece Builders Windows/Doors and has worked there for three years. She is a single mother to 8-year-old Isabella and 3-year-old Weston. Isabella loves Barbie’s & art. She cheers for the Northeast Bandits and wants to be a teacher one day. Weston is a typical boy and he loves dinosaurs & monster trucks and plays t-ball at Fossil Park.

Shortly before her 19th birthday, Victoria’s mother sand brother both passed away. She bounded from place to place and job to job until her daughter, Isabella, was born in 2013. “She saved my life,” Victoria says. “I wasn’t in a bad place in life, just could’ve been further along. Bella showed me how to be independent, patient, and how to love unconditionally. It was just her and I for four years until her brother, Weston, came. He was a piece of our puzzle we didn’t realize we were missing. The two of them have a connection I couldn’t have dreamed they would have.”

The family of three is living with another family member in a very small, cramped space. They all share one bedroom together and do not have a table where all of them can sit down and share a meal together, so they are forced to eat out a lot which cuts into their finances. When Victoria was accepted into the Habitat program, her first thoughts were “Thank you Mom and Jesus. My prayers are being answered and my dreams are coming true.” This was her second time applying and she did not think she would get accepted, but after doing what she needed to do after applying for the first time, she was able to finally start her homeownership journey with Habitat.

After moving into her new forever home, Victoria imagines her life to be more stable and less hectic. She is excited to be able to finally cook and bake! She has not yet started her sweat equity hours, but she is eager to get onto a construction site and begin her classes – especially her budgeting class!

More than 60 families are currently waiting to build a Habitat home, including Victoria and her children. Your financial support gives these individuals and their children a chance at a better, more stable life. If your heart is in our mission, please consider supporting us. “I want to provide stability for myself and my children. I want give them something to be proud of.”

The Christopher Family home was dedicated on October 28th, 2022.
