DITEK leadership team with one of the first DITEK surge protectors on a Habitat Home.

Habitat Homes are built with safety and security in mind for the partner families that will become homeowners. DITEK Surge Protection, a local family-owned company, has stepped up to help Habitat for Humanity Tampa Bay Gulfside by donating surge protectors on each new Habitat Home built in its service area.

In the wake of Hurricane Season, DITEK’s partnership with Habitat is as important as ever. Habitat Homes are constructed to withstand some of the strongest storms. Habitat Homeowners now have that extra protection in the event of an unwanted power surge caused by inclement weather

DITEK CEO Wendy Gattis, who has participated in Habitat’s CEO Build, found partnering with Habitat to be a perfect fit. “There is an excitement of seeing people’s dreams come true,” said Gattis, “It is incredibly rewarding to work with the homeowner as they build their home and Habitat makes it easy to be a partner in the community.”

Gattis and her DITEK leadership team have spent time volunteering with Habitat. On one particular build, they helped single mom Amanda Kostacky and her three children build their forever home in Tarpon Springs. Amanda saw the DITEK surge protector in her home and knew it was a huge benefit to have for years to come.

“Florida storms are no joke,” said Amanda. “To know DITEK wanted to step up to help me and my family, and all these Habitat families is just so nice and shows that it’s not just good people in the community, but good companies too.”

Habitat Homeowners like Amanda Kostacky know the importance of a DITEK surge protector on their home.

For DITEK, partnering with Habitat means creating a bond that goes beyond the business sense; it’s about building communities that will last for a long time.

“Affordable homeownership is near and dear to us at DITEK,” said Gattis. “Our workforce needs more housing options and the more people and businesses who can get involved with Habitat the better off our community will be. I encourage everyone to get involved and see why Habitat is so special.”
