At Habitat, we understand the power of home. As our community continues to navigate the pandemic, many have learned what “home” truly means to them. Despite the pandemic, Habitat Pinellas and West Pasco continues to work with hardworking prospective homeowners, like Siouxzen Coppola, who partner with us to build and purchase a safe and affordable home. Today, over 630 Habitat homeowners have a safe place to take shelter in after completing the Habitat homeownership program.

In support of future Habitat homeowners, we invite you to join us virtually for our At Home with Habitat online auction on July 16th through 19th.

For the Coppola family, the life changing journey of homeownership has a new meaning due to COVID-19.

When Siouxzen entered the Habitat program, her and her two children were sharing a space with her mother. Siouxzen’s daughter, Amor’e, has cerebral palsy and a chronic lung condition, and relies on a wheelchair for mobility. She is a “happy-go-lucky” eight year old who loves to play with “the best little brother”, Leland.

Siouxzen is an essential worker who continues to navigate the pandemic with her children’s safety in mind. Having their own home allows for increased safety for her kids, a quiet environment for Leland to be home schooled in and stable place where new memories can be made.

Through our At Home with Habitat: Virtual Auction, your support will help more families experience the stability that a safe home provides.

Bidding will open Thursday, July 16th at noon, and will close at 6:00 pm on Sunday, July 19th. We have a wide variety of items to bid on including excursions, hotel stays, and more. You can also donate to specific areas of the house as we raise funds to build for a local family in our community. You will find both under the “Items” tab on the website.
