The Habitat Pinellas and West Pasco team has compiled a list of local resources for our homeowners, staff, volunteers and community members. The list below has contact information for local services including food pantries, legal services, financial assistance, SNAP, and more. Please share these resources with your family and friends.

AARP Senior Community Service Employment

Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) and the AARP Foundation first matches eligible older job seekers (55+) with local nonprofits and companies so they can increase skills and build self-confidence, while earning a modest income.

Bartender Emergency Assistance Program
Assistance for bartenders, spouse or child of a bartenders.

CareerSource Pinellas
Programs include Career One Stop, CONNECT (unemployment benefits application); Ticket to Work program (disabilities); workshops & job training; food stamps; veterans’ benefits; AARP; cash assistance/welfare transition; refugee assistance.

Florida Department of Economic Opportunity
Program provides reemployment compensation (previously called unemployment assistance) which provides temporary wage replacement benefits.

Rent or utilities emergency relief due to unforeseen event. Community services for career development; Bay Area Legal Services; notary, copies, fax; applications for SNAP, food stamps, Medicare, Medicaid.

Health & Wellness

Clearwater Free Clinic
Clinic has provided problem oriented health care to low-income uninsured residents of upper Pinellas County by means of office visits, medications, lab work, x-rays, and specialty referrals. The Clinic, a volunteer driven non-profit, non-government medical facility, provides primary health care at no cost to those who do not qualify for government assistance and who cannot afford private medical care.

NAMI Offering Support Groups Via Conference Call

As our community faces uncertainty during these unprecedented times, NAMI Pinellas remains steadfast in the need to help support individuals and their families/loved ones that have been affected by mental illness. To continue to serve our community they are offering the following support groups via conference call:

• Connection Support Group | Monday, March 23, 6 p.m.

The call in number is a toll-free line. The support groups are led by trained NAMI facilitators and NAMI Pinellas will keep to the fidelity of the model – confidentiality and privacy will be honored. These calls WILL NOT be recorded.

Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties hosted its 11th Annual Golfing Fore Habitat Partner Tournament on Monday, November 1st, 2021 at Copperhead Course at Innisbrook, A Salamander Golf & Spa Resort. More than $125,000 was raised from the event and all proceeds benefit Habitat Pinellas & West Pasco and affordable housing opportunities for individuals and families in our community.
