“Habitat for humanity is my opportunity to give my daughter something I’ve always wanted: a place to forever call home.”
Ahmada Weston is a Lead Pharmacy Technician at CVS and a single mother to 2-year-old Alayah. She is on her journey towards completing her lifelong dream of homeownership with Habitat. Ahmada describes herself as outgoing and happy. “My personality itself truly speaks for the person I am,” she says. “I’m the person who will give my last just to see others happy!” She tells us that her daughter has a beautiful soul, smile, and laugh. The little girl already has such a big personality and loves to say “Hi” and “Bye” to anyone she meets. “The kid is great, not because she’s mine, but the girl is amazing!” her mother says.
The Weston Family’s living situation is getting overcrowded. “My daughter is growing and there’s no room for privacy. She is at the stage where she wants to play and with us living on the second floor it’s hard,” Ahmada tells us. When she learned that her family was accepted into the Habitat program, she could barely control her emotions! She was so excited that she was at a loss for words. “I am looking forward to finally have something I know is mine, something that my daughter will also know that home is home!”
For anyone who is considering applying to the Habitat for Humanity program, Ahmada offers these words of wisdom: “Don’t over think yourself or down yourself, APPLY! It may just be your time.” For more information on how to apply or refer someone to the program, please visit our Apply Page on our website.
“I am building because it’s what’s best for me, and with the help of Habitat for Humanity, I am able to make it happen.”
