“In life, you either have results or excuses. I no longer accept having excuses after having this opportunity to accomplish my biggest goal.”
Cidonio and his three daughters are ready for a change with their new Habitat home. Cidonio works as a Language Interpreter for Cyracom Internation, a language service agency. He has completed his AA from St Petersburg College and plans to complete his Bachelor’s degree in Education. “Our family loves to spend time together during outdoor activities like flower picking, evening walks, playing in the park, and so much more.”
His oldest daughter, Isabel, permanently resides with him while attending the 9th grade in Seminole. She loves music, drawing, and spending time with friends and family. “Isabel is very in touch with her own emotions, and loves to care for others needs.” His younger daughter, Edna, loves drawing, learning the piano, school and making new friends. “She is very outgoing and has a positive outlook in life. She is able to find joy in everything she does.” His youngest, Alanna, is very friendly. She enjoys playing with her sisters and loves Disney. She loves to go to the park, swim in the pool, and loves to draw and sing. Every week the family attends church together, and they love to cook budget-friendly meals together.
After being separated from his children’s mother, Cidonio found difficulty in paying for a house on his own. He has been renting a two-bedroom apartment with a close friend, leaving him to share a room with his three daughters. “Although this gave us an opportunity to spend more time together and really get to know each other better, the limited space brings a lot of challenges.”
When accepted into the Habitat program, he said “God heard my prayers. My girls are going to have their own space, and we will finally have stability.” Cidonio is very excited about the opportunity to complete sweat equity hours and be a part in building something important, his own home. “Having the opportunity to see how the foundation of a home is built is a once in a lifetime opportunity. The knowledge I will gain will help me become better.
“Housing is one of the basic needs of a human being. Being able to secure that milestone will enable me to continue and complete my career, and better my daughters lives, my family, and my own. Thinking about it brings tears of joy to my eyes!”
Cidonio says his home will be his safe haven. His family is looking forward to accomplishing this goal to have a space that they can call their own.
